I am 99% testing devices with stock ROM, meaning 'google' is in some fashion part of the ROM. PS2: I cannot really speak to F-Droid builds, because they are not in the realm of what I regularly test or support. PS: To my knowledge, if you test the nightlies from our website, they should completely not use any google specifics or services. Looks like an Internet search for this issue mostly produces that for most TTS engines you must pre-download the offline data for any respective language you intend to use offline. Google Text-to-Speech would, of course, be enabled in order to test it.īut as I said, I do not encounter that TTS would only work while Online in this setup, and I would not really know a reason why that should be, either.
